Lucid Air Pure: Overview
The 2023 Lucid Air Pure luxury automobile is one of the few EVs that have so far made a substantial influence, It can give exceptional range and excellent performance because to its large battery and small motors, both of which were created in-house. The EPA estimates that the Grand Touring Performance model’s driving range is 516 miles, and it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in only 2.6 seconds. With electrons left over, that’s enough range to go from Boston to Baltimore. More significantly, it delivers a longer range than any other EV available today. With a stated pace of under 2.0 seconds to reach 60 mph, the new Sapphire model is even faster. . The software interface in the early vehicles is still under development, and almost all of the controls are accessible through one of the several display panels that are scattered throughout the cabin, a nod to Lucid’s Silicon Valley beginnings. Other than that, the performance, range, and general swankness of the premium four-door make it a credible rival to expensive EVs like the Porsche Taycan and Mercedes-Benz EQS.
Lucid Air Pure: Motor & Performance
The entry-level Air Pure has a single electric motor that generates 480 horsepower and drives the rear wheels. Other variants come with two electric motors, each with a different horsepower rating, allowing for all-wheel drive: The Grand Touring variant produces 1050 horsepower, compared to the Touring model’s 620. Grand Touring and Grand Touring Performance trims were tested, and the former produced a quick time of 3.0 seconds for 0-60 mph; this performance can be readily duplicated by employing the car’s launch mode. The Pure reached 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, while the less expensive and less powerful Touring variant did it in an equal 3.0 seconds. The power gap between the Pure and Touring variants is more apparent on the way to 130 mph, which the Touring completed in 12.0 seconds compared to the Grand Touring’s 10.3 seconds. Despite not having air springs but rather traditional steel coil springs, the vehicle drove smoothly and steadily under the Smooth driving mode. Our primary issue was with the 21-inch wheels with low-profile performance tyres on our sample, which made a lot of noise over a patch of rough pavement. The new top dog is the three-electric motor, 1,200+ horsepower Lucid Air Sapphire. A second motor has been added and is mounted at the back of the car in order to compete with the Tesla Model S Plaid. Additionally, Lucid asserts a peak speed of 200 mph.
Lucid Air Pure: Battery Life & Range
According to estimations, the Air has the greatest range of any electric car that is presently available on the market. The Grand Touring variants of the Air have a bigger 111.0-kWh battery pack and support for DC fast charging, whilst the Pure and Touring trims have a smaller 92-kW battery pack. The mid-range Touring is expected to drive 425 miles on a single charge, compared to the basic Pure’s anticipated 410-mile driving range. The Grand Touring Performance variants have maximum ranges of 516 and 445 miles, respectively. The Grand Touring had a range of 410 miles on our 75 mph fuel-economy route, making it the longest-range EV we’ve yet tested. The Touring we tested had a range of just 280 miles before requiring a recharge, while the Pure had a range of 310 miles before the battery ran out. When connected to a fast charger, the car is said to be able to regain 300 miles of range in 20 minutes. New purchasers can also get three years of free fast charging at Electrify America charging points. There is no limit on how frequently owners may charge their automobiles as long as it is done only for personal, non-commercial uses.
Lucid Air Pure: Interior & Comfort
The Air is unmistakably designed to be a luxury vehicle, and its elegant cabin is furnished with opulent materials and cutting-edge technology. Lucid is particularly proud of the sedan’s large interior, which is marked by a big rear seat. Although it is claimed that the regular rear seats is comfortable for up to three adults, the Executive Rear seats option has a reclining mechanism for maximum comfort. The glass top of the Air increases the feeling of space and improves visibility outside. The front centre console of the sedan appears to offer plenty of storage space both within the huge center-console bin, which has places for a smartphone, as well as under the lower touchscreen’s retractable cover. Its front trunk, or frunk, will reportedly have a capacity of 10 cubic feet.
