The E30 chassis, which replaced the E21 chassis in 1982, was in production for 12 years; it predated the E36, which was launched in 1990, by 4 years.
The four-pot M10 and inline-six M20 engines utilised in the E21 were included in early variants. The M20 engine was equipped with Bosch Motronic injection, and the M10 engine was replaced by the M40 engine, which once more used motronic, in 1987. In late 1989, the rear light was somewhat enlarged along with the replacement of the chrome bumpers with black ones.
The E30’s suspension, which uses Macpherson front struts and semi-trailing rear arms, is credited with giving it a roomy interior and a low curb weight. Additionally, it was the first 3 series to have both a warning and indication light for the service light.

This low mileage E30 325i convertible is finished in a stunning shade of Diamant-Schwarz Metallic and is still in excellent shape. In the sunshine, the thick metallic flake in the paintwork sparkles to produce an almost grey tint. The facelift (non-chrome) bumpers and the black plastic trim look great against the Metallic finish of the original E30 form, and the rear boot lip has been painted Diamond Black for a more streamlined appearance.
