The Nissan Skyline GT-R, which made its debut in 1999, was the R34 Skyline’s high-performance version. One of the most well-known and sought-after models of the legendary GT-R is the R34 GT-R. These all-wheel drive performance coupes, often known as “Godzilla,” were propelled by Nissan’s legendary RB26DETT engine. Depending on the model, this highly adjustable engine was available with power ranging from 327hp to 493hp. The V-Spec N1, V-Spec II, M-Spec, and NISMO Z-Tune were notable versions. A little over 100 R34 GT-Rs were shipped to countries including the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, and New Zealand, while the majority of these cars were sold in the Japanese market. Is Nissan Skyline R34 still in production?

Nissan considered the notion of a mid-engine, flagship sports vehicle, just like other manufacturers. The Nissan MID4 and MID4 II, which were developed by the Japanese automaker in 1985, would have engaged in an intriguing competition with the Honda NSX had Nissan decided to create a production version. The Nissan Z32 and the two concept cars both used the VG30 (DETT) engine. It was determined that the R34 would be a mid-engine sports vehicle powered by a freshly built V-6 engine because Nissan was financially sound at the time. The creation of a high-performance, mid-engine sports vehicle, however, required Nissan to make an investment in a special production line.

One GT-R Z-Tune stands out among the others as being more exclusive

Nissan’s racing branch, NISMO, purchased 20 of the best R34 GT-R examples it could locate after the R34 Skyline’s manufacturing ceased, and transformed them into one of the car’s most sought-after variations, the NISMO R34 GT-R Z-Tune. We shall note that all NISMO Z-Tune vehicles were painted in the exclusive Z-Tune Silver (paint code KY0), with the exception of one, since it is one of the greatest and rarest variants of classic JDM automobiles. The 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 M-Spec Nür, one of just 253 units ever produced, was authorised for import under the “show and display” category in 2017.
